Stephan Turner's Stage Acting Workshop
Stephan will be conducting his Stage Acting Workshops from July 1st to September 2nd 2024. The workshops will cover the basics of stage acting, including stage movement, vocal projection, stage blocking, monologue presentation, and scene work. Participants will also explore short-form improv through fun theater games.
The workshops will last 8 to 10 weeks, with one full group meeting per week and scene work 2-3 times a week, focusing on different scenes in each meeting. Participants are required to attend meetings where their scene is being worked on. The workshops will culminate in a public performance.
To participate, prepare a 1-2 minute dramatic or comedic monologue. Memorization is not necessary at the beginning of the workshop, but it will become part of the public performance at the end. Once the group is finalized, a final performance date will be determined. The cost to join the 8 week workshop is 4,500 baht, payable on or before the first meeting date.
If interested, register by sending an email expressing your intent to [email protected]
Reviews:
"I’ve always had the desire and the ambition to act. But I had no confidence or skills. After Mr. Stephan Turner’s workshop, I could at least say, I have the confidence now to be up on stage and act in front of a full house. I immensely enjoyed all the stage acting techniques and the constructive critique we all received during the rehearsals. And I wish to continue my acting journey."

“I'd honestly kind of given up on any performance aspirations. However, on a whim, I joined this workshop, and I'm so glad I did! It really helped me remember why I love performing as well as allowed me to gain new skills under the guidance of a true thespian of the craft. Thank you Stephan!"

SYNOPSIS
Twelve Angry Jurors was written by Sherman L. Sergei and Francis Hopkins Maxwell and adapted from the play Twelve Angry Men by Reginald Rose.
Synopsis: On a hot summer day after a long trial, a jury must decide whether a 16 year- old boy is guilty of a heinous crime. The jury votes 11-1 that the boy is guilty of the crime, but laws in the United States require a unanimous vote by all 12 jurors in order to pass judgment. The tempers flare as the eleven jurors try their best to convince the one dissenter to come around to their side.
As the evidence is re-examined, however, new uncertainties come to light, forcing everyone to truly question if there is in fact some measure of “reasonable doubt”. Twelve Angry Jurors is a heightened courtroom thriller that puts you on the edge of your seat while powerfully exploring what it means to live in a democracy.
Since its premier as a screenplay in 1957, Twelve Angry Men has been selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being culturally, historically, or aesthetically significant. The film was also selected as the second-best courtroom drama ever by the American Film Institute and in 2011, the film was the second most screened film in secondary schools in the United Kingdom.

SYNOPSIS
At first the Sycamores seem mad, but it is not long before we realize that if they are mad, the rest of the world is madder. In contrast to these delightful people are the unhappy Kirbys. The plot shows how Tony, attractive young son of the Kirbys, falls in love with Alice Sycamore and brings his parents to dine at the Sycamore home on the wrong evening. The shock sustained by the Kirbys, who are invited to eat cheap food, shows Alice that marriage with Tony is out of the question. The Sycamores, however, though sympathetic to Alice, find it hard to realize her point of view. Meantime, Tony, who knows the Sycamores are right and his own people wrong, will not give her up, and in the end Mr. Kirby is converted to the happy madness of the Sycamores, particularly since he happens in during a visit by an ex-Grand Duchess, earning her living as a waitress. No mention has as yet been made of the strange activities of certain members of the household engaged in the manufacture of fireworks; nor of the printing press set up in the parlor; nor of Rheba the maid and her friend Donald; nor of Grandpa's interview with the tax collector when he tells him he doesn't believe in the income tax.

Synopsis
The action of the play takes place in Boston, seventeen years after the events of The Miracle Worker. Helen is now an honor student at Radcliffe, and she and Annie have undertaken to write a book about their remarkable experiences. A young instructor of English from Harvard, John Macy, is engaged to help them, and Annie, yielding to an overpowering need to pursue a life of her own, soon falls in love with him. Their marriage, and the disruptive domestic triangle that results, leads to the compelling crisis of the play. After years of total dedication to her charge, Annie finds her loyalties divided, and Helen, herself aware of strong sexual stirrings, contributes to the growing discord and the inevitable failure of her mentor's marriage. As the play ends the two women accept the inescapable truth of their condition—that they are inextricably bound together and must find, in each other, whatever rewards life might bring.
